Tried and Tested Gift Ideas for a Housewarming Party

Finding a thoughtful gift is never easy, but fret not, I have some tried and tested gift ideas for a housewarming party.

There are towels in every single household, but just how many people regularly replace them per the manufacturer's recommendation? Most people (and I am guilty of that as well) use their towels until they are disheveled, sad, and stiff. A housewarming party is the perfect occasion to gift fresh new towels.

I like to gift colorful guest towels, so the recipients can use them in their guest bathrooms. I know a lot of people have specific towel preferences (ex. all-white towels in their main bathroom for a spa-like experience), so smaller guest towels make a much better gift.

I love Tekla's Guest Towels as they have so many beautiful patterns and colors.

These beautiful towels are gentle on the skin and lightweight while being absorbent. Overly plush towels are not ideal for powder bathrooms as they take much longer to dry and stay soggy for the next guest.

Tekla's guest towels have a hanging loop, making them also ideal for kitchen or bar sinks.

Tekla towels come in 5 different sizes. My go-to size for gifts is the guest towel (12" x 20"), and I find it to be just the right size for light handwashing.

Next, Diptyque's hand wash and lotion set. You cannot go wrong with these. I've given them to a handful of my friends and family, and they fell in love with the scent, formulation, and texture.

You can buy hand wash and lotion separately, of course. But if your gift budget is higher (or if you're gifting to yourself, haha), I highly suggest getting the set.

The Softening Hand Wash is Diptyque's bestseller, and it is frequently sold out.

The soap is scented with amber notes and a hint of Ylang Ylang. It leaves my hands so soft and silky that washing my hands feels like a treat.

There is an Exfoliating Hand Wash that gently scrubs your hands to reveal softer skin. But I personally recommend the Softening Hand Wash, especially if you intend to use it multiple times a day.

The Velvet Hand Lotion instantly moisturizes your hands and leaves a light and undetectable layer. The name is apt - the texture is velvety, leaving my hands silky soft, and moisturized without feeling greasy.

Both the hand wash and lotion come in sturdy and luxurious glass containers, and they are meant to take center stage in anyone's bathroom.

I assumed that the hand wash and lotion would have the same fragrance; however, they have subtly different notes. Diptyque describes the fragrance as a "delectable blend of sweet Almond and crispy Petitgrain, juxtaposed with warm, reassuring Virginia Cedar". It's a lovely scent. The hand wash and lotion pair phenomenally, and the scents are long-lasting.

All of Diptyque's hand wash and lotion are refillable. It'd be such a waste of these beautiful glass dispensers if they weren't refillable, right?

Each pouch refills the full-size hand wash and lotion container.

Diptyque recently released this Hand Care Tray made of biscuit porcelain, adding a more custom touch to the hand wash and lotion set. Epic.

Lastly, a thoughtfully-selected diffuser will transform the recipient's house into a sanctuary. I love Acqua Di Parma's diffusers because they have a long-lasting scent. Compared to other diffusers (including the high-end ones), Acqua Di Parma's diffusers have the strongest fragrance that actually lasts for months.

There are several fragrances, but my favorite is the La Casa Sul Lago. Placed in a well-ventilated area, the diffuser will exude an enchanting blend of morning dew, fresh flower petals, and complex aquatic notes.

If you're tired of replacing half-full diffusers because the fragrance is no longer detectable, you're going to be happy with this diffuser. You will empty the jar.
