I’m picky about kitchen tools. Sure, great chefs don’t complain about the tools, but if the tools perform great and clean easily, wouldn’t anyone want and prefer those? I’ve used a fair number of spatulas over the years. I always get spatulas with silicone tips to protect cooking surfaces. I had this phase where I was so fixated on a white kitchen that all my kitchen tools and accessories needed to be in white. The problem with white silicone tools is that they tend to show food stains way too easily. If you cook curry with it, good luck getting the yellow-ish stain out of the tool. Long story short, the Flex-Core Silicone Spatula from Williams Sonoma is my current go-to cooking tool. I literally use it for everything – from mixing cookie dough to stir-frying fajita beef, it is the tool to have.

The Flex-Core Silicone Spatula is manufactured by Tovolo, a popular kitchen tool brand known for its silicone tools. Tovolo created the Flex-Core Silicone Spatula exclusively for Williams-Sonoma, with passionate cooks in mind.

The spatula is composed of food-grade silicone to maximize convenience. It was a minor annoyance of mine that I needed to hand wash a spatula with a silicone tip and a wooden handle. I can simply toss this spatula in a dishwasher whenever a task is done.

And the best part about this grey-colored tool is that it hides most food stains. It actually is really great at repelling any food stain to settle in the first place, so I don’t have to worry about getting it out. Most sauces that I work with were easy to wash off, and the spatula still looks brand new. If it were to stain, however, it’s going to hide any stain much better than pure white silicone tools. They are really only great for Instagram photos. Sad.

The Flex-Core collection includes this spatula, Spoonula, Scoop & Spread Tool and 2 mini spatulas. I can’t wait to complete my collection and replace my existing tools with them. I’m patiently waiting for the next promotion – can’t wait!

It is heat-resistant up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, so feel free to sanitize it as frequently as you want.

The Flex-Core Spatula has a built-in nylon core for enhanced support and control. Compared to regular silicone spatulas I’ve used; the tip felt a lot sturdier and more rigid for easier cooking and strokes. The silicone tip stayed upright and steady, so I could easily break apart vegetables and eggs.
