Breathing clean air at home has been my priority because living in a city means exposing myself to lots of pollution! I try to ventilate my house daily, especially in the morning and after cooking. In addition to that, I use air purifiers to filter out any pollutants, smoke, and dust particles.

I purchased these two Pro air purifiers from Blueair a couple of years ago when California had a big wildfire. The air quality was so bad, and we couldn't go outside! I had to get the Pro L and XL to cover the entire house, and it wasn't cheap. But in retrospect, it was the best investment.

Blueair has several air purifier models to choose from. Although you can pick your air purifier based on the product family - Blue, DustMagnet, and Classic&Pro -, I suggest choosing the air purifier based on the size of your room.

The Pro XL, the largest and most powerful air purifier from Blueair, can filter the air in a 110 square-meter room every 12.5 minutes.

I also have the Pro L purifier.

The Pro L is shorter than the Pro XL, and it is suitable for smaller spaces as it filters air in a 780-square-foot space in about 12.5 minutes.

Here is a side-by-side photo of the Pro L and Pro XL.

The Pro XL is considerably taller than the L, as it houses an additional filter.

The Pro L takes 2 filters, and the XL takes 3 filters.

Operating the purifier is simple and easy. All the controllers are located at the top of the purifier.

You can press the plus (+) button to turn the purifier on and increase the speed. Pressing the minus (-) button decreases the speed and turns the purifier off.

The Pro XL purifier comes with the Auto-sensing function. You can press the plus button 4 times to access the Auto mode. It automatically detects the PM2.5 and gas levels in the room and purifies it accordingly. When I first installed the purifier, the air quality was pretty bad! Both PM2.5 and gas had red indicators on, and the purifier was running at full speed. It did quiet down once the room was cleaner.

The Pro purifiers are quite heavy - the Pro XL weighs 32kg, so it's definitely not something you can move around easily. If you're interested in a portable purifier, I suggest the Classic 690i as it has wheels.

Blueair purifiers actively remove common allergens and particles that are commonly found in a household.

One important thing to keep in mind before purchasing an air purifier, though, is that there is an ongoing filter cost. The filters need to be replaced as frequently as every 3 months, although depending on the season and usage, the frequency can be stretched up to 6 months.

The Pro air purifiers require the Pro Particle Filter, available for purchase at Blueair.com. I have a filter subscription, so I don't have to remember when was the last time I replaced the filters.

All in all, if you care about indoor air quality, Blueair's purifiers deliver superior and excellent performance. And as long as you're okay with ongoing filter costs, you're going to be happy with how much difference these purifiers make!
