If you love munching and snacking while you're on the couch, a good side table is a must. Coffee tables are almost always lower than the couch level, so I find it challenging to eat anything on the coffee table. I wanted to own ClassiCon's E1027 Adjustable Side Table for a long time but have been walking myself out of it because there are so many replicas and dupes. After years of deliberation, I ended up getting it, and it is perfection.

ClassiCon's E1027 Adjustable Side Table is the classic among the classics. Who could've thought this simple table that consists of a soft chrome body and a glass tabletop would be a design icon of the 20th century?

Eileen Gray. (2023, December 28). In Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eileen_Gray

The E1027 Adjustable Side Table was designed by Eileen Gray (1878-1976), a designer known for her pioneering designs that marked the height of Modernism. The now-classic tubular steel furniture, including the E1027 side table, was considered revolutionary back then. The table was named after the house E1027 that Gray and her partner, Jean Badovici, had built. E stands for Eileen, 10 for Jean (J is the 10th letter of the alphabet), 2 for B(Badovici), and 7 for G(Gray).

The table requires minor installation. If you opt for a white-glove delivery, they will install it for you. I don't think it is necessary considering the weight of the table and ease of installation. I was able to lift the box and put the table together by myself.

The E1027 table was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1978, and it has been featured, staged, and recognized all over the world.

The steel frame doesn't require any installation. All you need to do is mount the glass tabletop on the frame. There are 3 supporting steel pieces below the steel tabletop frame. Unscrewing the screws to loosen the steel support pieces and slide the glass tabletop below.

The glass top has the ClassiCon mark. ClassiCon is the authorized manufacturer of Gray's E1027 table.

Thread the steel frame through the hole in the glass top.

The table is height adjustable, which makes this table so much more versatile and functional.

Regardless of the height of your couch (and couches have different heights), the side table height will be consistent for your comfort.

The open-side construction allows the table to be tucked under the couch, so you can reach your items more easily while sitting down. This convenient and utilitarian design has been adopted by other furniture brands as well.

You can adjust the height of the steel frame and secure the desired height in place using this lock. It is functional but adds an unmistakenly sophisticated design element to the table.

I find the third hole provides an ideal height for my couch.

This striking simple design and construction exude beauty within and highlight minimalism.

I've seen some people leaving this booklet on the table.

This ingeniously proportioned table is a good size for various lounging tasks - not only for resting refreshments and snacks but also for laptops or iPads.

I love the larger surface area of this table. It is enough to comfortably entertain two people when they're lounging and snacking on the couch. It's a great resting place for phones, books, and miscellaneous other small items.

If you're on the verge of purchasing one, I recommend it 1000%. You will not regret it and will cherish it for a generation.
