As my due date approaches, I'm seriously getting into a nesting mode. I did a ton of research on diapers because they will be in direct contact with my baby's skin. I didn't want any skin trouble or issues with leakage due to poor absorbency. Coterie's diaper seemed like an excellent contender, so I ordered my baby's very first diaper from them.
The diapers arrived two days after I placed my order. I honestly didn't expect them to arrive so quickly! But the sooner I stock up on the nursery necessities, the better. I told you I'm nesting! I ordered a mix of N and 1-size diapers and some wipes. Coterie included a trial pack of size 2 diapers, as well.
The diaper is available in 7 sizes. The size goes by the weight of your baby.
The newborn diapers are suitable for babies under 10 lbs. So literally right when they're born.
All Coterie diapers are fragrance-free and don't contain any dyes, parabens, chlorine, latex, or lotion. I'm not a fan of colorful diapers with lots of prints (why?!), so Coterie's clean formula was a definite winning factor.
The newborn diapers also have an umbilical cord notch, which is designed just for newborns.
After the newborn stage, which will pass in the blink of an eye, you'll need to size up.
Coterie claims their diapers have 70% more liquid capacity, minimizing leaks and blowouts. Also, Coterie diapers supposedly absorb up to 4x faster than other diapers, minimizing the likelihood of diaper rash, which is caused by excess moisture.
I also ordered the baby wipes from Coterie.
So many "baby" wipes on the market contain alcohol, fragrance, phthalates, and parabens. I liked how Coterie's wipes are made of 99% purified water.
Their wipes are also larger - according to Coterie, these wipes are up to 30% larger than average wipes, so I can clean more mess with fewer wipes.
The wipes are made of 100% plant-based, plastic-free, and biodegradable fibers. They will decompose in 12 weeks!
I stocked the first drawer on the changing table, and it's slowly looking like a nursery!
Oh, and I highly suggest using these expandable drawer dividers when you're organizing your baby's drawers.
As you know, babies need a lot of things. And their stuff is tiny! Without these dividers, all the supplies would've been mixed up and created a hot mess. I got these from Amazon, but any drawer dividers would do.
I like these dividers more than the tension-based dividers because they are much easier to set up.
The gray button functions as a lock. Once it's down, the drawer divider's length is locked, and the divider won't move around.
You can set the divider to the desired length while the button's up.
Once the length is set, you can press down the button, and the length is locked!
These dividers are seriously a must.
The diapers, baby wipes, and burp clothes are neatly organized now. And whoever's changing the baby's diapers can easily grab whatever he or she needs.
I'll post an update once I've actually used these diapers and wipes. Until then, my diaper drawer's fully stacked and ready.
