Jin Cook is a Korean restaurant in Santa Clarita, CA that serves authentic Korean soul food. The store has a Korean traditional pub decor, and I could tell that the establishment was kept clean. There is another location in Glendale, CA.
A lot of seatings are booth-type seats, giving you and your eating companion privacy and intimacy. You can also be seated in the middle where it's more open.
This is where we were seated. Spacious for a party of two, this booth can accommodate up to 4 people.
Under the disposable chopsticks and stainless steel spoon was the menu.
I really wanted to try their whole chicken, oven-baked and served with Korean spicy dipping sauce; however, I was informed that they were sadly out of it.
Jin Cook serves alcohol, as well.
This is the rest of the menu. I ordered the Jalapeno Cheese Curry Katsu, a top seller. A generous serving of cheese-stuffed pork katsu that contains bits of jalapeno is served with rice and curry in a hot stone pot. If you're feeling more soupy, Jin Cook has several Tangs, which are gourmet Korean soups.
It is customary for Korean restaurants to serve side dishes. Each side dish here was tasty. You can request refills as many times as you want, and I got the bean sprouts and kimchi refilled. I was pretty famished, so I was nibbling on the side dishes until my entree arrived.
My friend ordered a Spicy Tofu Soup (Soon Dubu) with seafood. You can substitute seafood with beef.
Sizzling hot, and so tasty!
And would you look at this katsu?
The serving size is honestly more than generous. You are served 4 pieces of cheese-stuffed katsu, but each piece is huge! I was starving, but I couldn't finish it all.
Dipped in curry sauce, the katsu is crispy, cheesy, and chewy all at the same time. Complemented with rice, you really can't go wrong with this dish.
Overall, it's a nice small eatery with large servings.
