Jonathan Adler's Peking Side Table is beautiful in design and has solid construction. I purchased this table during the pandemic in 2020. It was part of the Peking Collection, and the collection had several other furniture items such as a cocktail table.
This side table has a sister, so they can be nested together. I only purchased one, and I regret not getting the set because now the Peking tables are discontinued, and they look much better nested together.
The standalone table is beautiful as well, but when the two tables are nested together, they look fuller and more interesting.
The nested tables create visual interest and divide zones so that your side table can be decorative and functional at the same time. For instance, you can use the taller table for decorative objects or vases and use the shorter one for resting drinks.
As bedside tables, these nested tables offer brilliant solutions - the taller table for the lamp and the shorter one for miscellaneous items like phones, scented candles, or lip balm.
The Peking tables were available in various finishes.
The white lacquered top on brass legs is glamorous and neutral at the same time.
The table is spacious enough to accommodate some decor items and drinks on each side of the lounge chairs, so having a single table is not a dealbreaker. But when you see nested tables you love, consider getting both because they make a difference.
Nonetheless, it is a beautiful table that gets used daily - grab a glass and gather around for an afternoon chitchat :)
