I’ve searched high and low for a celebratory cake that is elegant and sophisticated.
I wanted a cake for the Mother’s Day brunch I was hosting for the in-laws, and most cakes were a bit childish and gaudy.
After days of searching, I've finally decided on the Cake Bake Shop.

Gwendolyn's famous cakes have been featured in many publications, including Oprah's.
The Cake Bake Shop is a bakery/brunch place located in Indianapolis, IN; however, it ships most of its cakes nationwide. For shipping, a 5 days notice is required.
The Cake Bake Shop's cakes are available in Tiffany & Co., Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn Teen, and select Costco locations (stores in Indiana) through partnership, so you can order your cake directly from those vendors.
The cake offerings change seasonally, except for a few year-round staples.
My cake was apparently a seasonal flavor because when I visited the website several months later, it was no longer available.
The cake arrived on time and was packaged extremely well. For the price, though, I must say it was expected.
The cake has arrived frozen, inside a temperature-regulated box.
I thawed it overnight in the fridge and took it out on the day of the brunch.
This chocolate cake is to die for! So pretty.
It's definitely going to be my next cake purchase.
The muted pastel pink cake was a showstopper, and my mother-in-law LOVED it.
