My family and I are trying to go as plastic-free as possible in the kitchen, and OXO's SoftWorks Smart Seal containers are perfect.

Ah - a perfectly stocked and organized fridge brings me such joy.

OXO's Smart Seal containers are also available in plastic, but as I mentioned before, I'm trying to phase out plastic from my kitchen. Still, though, OXO's plastic containers are made of BPA-free plastic and are perfectly safe to store cold and dry items. And they're considerably lighter.

This is a 3.5-cup container.

It's great for storing small leftovers or pickles (in my case).

The lids are made of BPA-free plastic, and the containers are freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.

Another reason I love these containers so much is that the lids have thicker silicone strips.

Other containers have really thin gaskets, and they're impossible to remove when I need to wash them. If I don't wash the lids and gaskets properly, they get moldy and gross, so I wash them every time I empty the container. And those thin gaskets are IMPOSSIBLE to remove by hand. I always needed to use a knife and slide through them strategically, and putting them back was also a nightmare.

The Smart Seal glass container's gaskets are much thicker, and they're so easy to remove.

The lid even has a small indent to make it easier - thank you, OXO.

And these 8-cup containers are probably my favorite size.

They're so versatile - I use them not only for storing food but also cooking chicken in the oven.

The glass containers are oven safe, so they can go into the oven and fridge.

These containers are available as a set as well that includes various sizes.

The transparent glass also allows me and other family members to check the contents without opening the lid.

I wash them in the dishwasher, either on the top or bottom rack.

I just wash the lids on the top rack since they're plastic.

And once the containers are washed, I store them in my Tupperware drawer.

It's probably one of the most heavily used drawers in the kitchen because we always have leftovers and ready-made food from the grocery stores.

I sectioned the drawer using the drawer divider, so the glass containers fit snugly and don't move around. This ensures the storage containers from bumping into each other and cracking.
