One of my absolute favorites from Poltrona Frau is the Mi storage collection designed by Neri & Hu. I have so many favorites from this brand, but the Mi cabinets and trolley always top the list.

The Mi storage has the same uniform design regardless of the storage type. It consists of a thin, solid metal structure, leather-upholstered surface, and marble top. The trolley, of course, has wheels to make it mobile.
The low cabinet has 4 doors with book openings, and it is suitable as a sideboard or a buffet table.

"Mi" has a dual meaning in Chinese and is used to express both the action of "looking" but also the word "secret". Neri & Hu were inspired by this duality when designing the storage units and incorporated the concept of plainly hidden belongings displayed in full view.
Once stored, your belongings are hidden; however, you can peek through a layer of tempered glass, discovering what's inside.

The external surface of the Mi storage units is upholstered in Saddle Extra leather, which is a more durable leather offering. The Saddle Extra leather is treated so that it doesn't fade under sunlight.

It is then embellished with an original vertical striped canneté texture that gives the surface a 3D effect. The textured leather adds so much character. Poltrona Frau does amazing smooth leather upholstery; however, I believe the textured finish was the right choice in this case - very well executed.
