It's been a while since we came to Universal Studios, and a lot has changed! The last time we came here was in 2011, and it was exciting to check out all the changes. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a themed area that opened on April 7, 2016, was our most anticipated, and it did not disappoint. The Fast and Furious section was under construction, and we made a note to ourselves that we'd come back once it was completed because the new ride looked exhilarating.

Ok - back to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It is a paradise for those who love Harry Potter. We grew up reading Harry Potter and fantasizing about getting an invitation to Hogwarts via an owl delivery, so we couldn't contain our excitement when we finally went to this hyper-realistic theme park.

The park was larger than we thought! Maybe it was because we visited Universal Studios when it wasn't terribly busy, but it felt spacious and large.

We took our time looking at the details that were put in there to make the experience, well, magical.

Even the warning sign for a ride seamlessly blended into the theme.

The close "reproduction" of the castle is where the popular "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" ride is at. It is an immersive ride that takes you on a thrilling adventure.

The walkway to the ride which also serves as a waiting line when the park is crowded is filled with Harry Potter details - the Mirror of Erised, the gargoyle to Dumbledore's office, a Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, and a wall of portraits, to name a few.

The sorting hat will introduce you to the ride and let you know some precautions.

Lastly, you can stop by the Ollivander's for a wand selection experience.

Look at this massive wall of wands! We were told that 14,000 wands are staged here.

There is a Butterbeer kiosk if you're looking for some refreshment.

You can go to Three Broomsticks, a restaurant in the Harry Potter theme park, and grab a bite if you're getting hungry. Three Broomsticks has butterbeer, too.

To clarify, Butterbeer doesn't contain alcohol. It was available in several varieties, and our choice was the frozen Butterbeer.

It was way too sweet for our taste, but now we can say that we've tried Butterbeer!

Until next time!
