I’ve been washing my produce with baking soda for as long as I can remember but I always hated having to dilute it in water. I always use cold water to rinse out my produce, so diluting baking soda can be kinda annoying. I switched to Trader Joe’s Fruit & Vegetable Wash, and I’m very happy with it.

The Fruit and Vegetable Wash is formulated to remove waxes, pesticides, and chemicals from the surface of produce (soft and hard).

The formula is super concentrated, so I only need a teeny tiny amount to get my produce squeaky clean. You can either apply the wash directly to the produce (recommended for hard-skinned produce like apples or cucumbers) or dilute it in water (recommended for bulk washing or softer produce like grapes). Unlike baking soda, all I need to do is swish the wash to mixing it in. One tablespoon of this veggie wash can clean approximately 10 pounds of produce, so a little goes a loooooong way.

I do wish the wash features a spray nozzle, so I can apply the wash directly to my produce more easily. But other than that, the wash doesn’t leave any funny taste or smell and gets my produce clean.
