Villeroy & Boch's La Boule is a 7-piece porcelain tableware set for two that doubles as an interior object.
I first saw these stackable dishes on a YouTube channel, and it was the most innovative and coolest thing I've seen. I've been patiently waiting for them to go on sale, and I finally purchased them when Macy's was having a Black Friday sale. I purchased La Boule in Memphis, and Black and white finishes.
La Boule is a Red Dot winner of 2020 - the Red Dot Design Award is an international, annual event that evaluates and awards innovative product and industrial designs.
La Boule consists of 7 dinnerware pieces - 2 flat bowls, 2 bowls, 2 universal plates and 1 serving platter.
I love how La Boule completes a table setting for two.
The dishes stack neatly and assemble into a sphere, which can be used as a decorative object on a buffet table or a floating shelf in the kitchen.
La Boule has an approximate diameter of 9.5".
This stackable and eye-catching centerpiece is also a great space saver.
I love both La Boules - the Memphis is so whimsical and characteristic. It adds a pop of color to my dining table, and the shiny finish feels great to the touch.
So bold!
The black and white La Boule is the definition of modern and chic.
The black pieces have a matte finish, which shows the grain and texture, accentuating and highlighting the food.
My heart sank when I unboxed the Black and White one because the black pieces had visible white scuffs everywhere.
Upon inspection, these scuffs were just white powder! They came right off when I washed them.
I love how these are dishwasher-safe. A lot of design-forward or high-end dinnerware is hand wash only; however, La Boule pieces are durable and dishwasher-safe. It's one of the many things I love about Villeroy & Boch dinnerware.
Villeroy & Boch has a Christmas-themed La Boule, as well.
The Toy's Delight La Boule features Villeroy & Boch's popular Toy's Delight pattern, and it looks like a giant Christmas tree ornament!
This is on my wish list. Isn't this the perfect fusion of modern and tradition?
La Boule Paradiso celebrates 275 years of Villeroy & Boch, and it is definitely collectible! It is pricier than other La Boule colors; however, the design elements and print details are astonishing.
