Vitamix Ascent Series A3500 Blender

I've been seeing Vitamix blenders everywhere - Youtube cooking channels, health magazines, recipe books. I debated on purchasing it for months even though I wanted to upgrade my blender because $700 is a hefty price. But considering how a high-quality appliance lasts for a long time, I rationalized my purchase and went with the most advanced blender from Vitamix.

There are currently 3 Vitamix blender types - Ascent, Explorian, and Legacy Series. If you aren't sure about the blender model, you can take a quick blender recommender quiz to find the one that best suits your needs and lifestyle.

The Ascent A3500 features 5 program settings that automatically adjust to the container size you select, process your recipe, and stop the blender when complete. The settings have easy-to-understand pictograms - smoothies, frozen desserts, hot soups, dips & spreads, and self-clean. Unless you are a skilled cook or a baker, these 5 programs are really all you need for most day-to-day blending needs.

The Ascent series blenders have touchscreens. They look more modern and clean than the previous generations of Vitamix, and they are also easier to wipe clean.

The rubber pad comes off for easy cleaning, in case there is some spillups.

I make my morning smoothies using the Vitamix A3500, and it's never failed me. Blending protein powder and chunks of frozen fruits and veggies is not easy to perfect. Blenders with lesser power leave bits of frozen fruit pieces and clumps of powder here and there. You won't have to drink sad smoothies anymore, haha.

The blades are sharp, but the real difference comes from the motor base.

The base is heavy (weighs a little over 14 lbs), and its powerful motor grinds everything to the perfect consistency you want.

I add the ingredients, set the smoothie mode, and press the start button.

Vitamix recommends adding the ingredients in the following order.

Adding liquids first prevents the dry ingredients like powders or seasonings from clumping!

It will take 50 seconds - I usually go get a cup for my smoothie while it's blending.

I added almond milk, protein powder, frozen strawberries, and bananas. It blended nicely.

The smoothie mode accelerates towards the end of the mode, and this ensures that everything's finely ground and blended.

And lastly, I wanted to point out one of the most innovative and convenient features of Vitamix blenders - the Self Clean mode. It is such a brilliant function!

You can clean the blender easily by adding a drop of dish soap to a container half-filled with water. Secure the lid shut, press the self-clean button, and start the blender. It cleans even the hard-to-reach areas near the blades.

I've seen many people steer clear from using blenders because some blender containers are heavy and difficult to clean. Vitamix has addressed that problem. I simply rinse the container once it is cleaned, and let it air dry on a dish rack. So easy!

And the use case for the Vitamix is endless.

There are hundreds of recipes to make using the Vitamix blender.
