Dyson's bladeless fans have been around for some time now, and I can no longer go back to regular fans. The ease of cleaning itself is too good of a pro to choose a regular fan. Dyson's Pure Humidify+Cool Cryptomic is, as the name suggests, a humidifier, fan, and air purifier in one unit.
Living in Los Angeles, I battle with dry skin constantly, so I've been meaning to get a humidifier. And these days, everyone seems to have an air purifier or two.
These unboxing photos are months old, and this post is actually based on my experience of using the machine for several months.
These filters need to be replaced every now and then, just like any other air purifier.
Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool Cryptomic has a similar built and design as its tower fans. The only notable difference is the built-in water reservoir at the bottom of the unit as it is a humidifier as well.
This is everything you get when you purchase the Humidify+Cool Cryptomic.
The filters go inside this brass inlay.
Dyson makes the filters for the Cryptomic, so you can easily reorder through their website.
For your reference, the filter is compatible with the following models:
Once you insert the filters and fill the water reservoir, the unit is ready to use.
It does get noisy if you increase the strength (there are 10 increments) settings, but I only had to use the high settings for a few minutes. I crank it up in the morning to freshen the air and reduce it down to 3-4 throughout the day, and I barely notice it.
The remote control magnetically attaches to the top of the device, so you won't lose it. You can control it on the Dyson app, as well.
Refilling the water reservoir is simple - the reservoir slides out easily, and you just have to refill it to the top line.
I love how the lid opens up completely, allowing me to clean the reservoir if I need to. Some humidifiers have reservoirs with small openings, and cleaning them thoroughly is impossible!
My nose is less stuffy, and it's good to know that I am breathing in fresh air in my house.
