I purchased this Smart Home Fragrance Diffuser set from Sephora, and it contains a smart diffuser device and 2 fragrance refills. I was intrigued by the idea of controlling the fragrances via its smartphone app. Pura claims that you can schedule the fragrances to run at certain times, turn it on/off depending on your travel plans and switch between 2 fragrances.
The set arrived promptly, packaged in this beautiful box. The set features 2 of NEST’s bestselling fragrances, as it is a collaboration between NEST and Pura.
Each vial can cover 1000 sq ft for 700 hours, and the best part is that I can turn off the fragrances when I’m away. I scheduled it so the fragrance runs 30 minutes before I come home from work. And I’m welcomed by the enchanting and invigorating fragrance that makes my home so comforting and calming.
The fragrance vial also contains its unique QR code, so it can be scanned on the app for remote control and scheduling.
The device comes with complete safety information and a set-up instruction leaflet. Contrary to some reviewers I read on Sephora’s website, it is incredibly easy to set up, and the app is 100% free. There is no subscription fee or activation fee.
The app lets you control the intensity of each fragrance, so you have total control over how intense your area is to smell. I keep mine in the entryway, so I set the intensity at 6, out of 10 being the strongest. I can smell it every time I walk in, and it’s such a pleasant sensory experience.
This is essentially an electric wall plug-in. There is nothing special about the device besides the fact that it connects to the smartphone app using the QR code and your wifi network.
There is, however, an ongoing expense whenever you replace the fragrance refill. Just like any wall plug-in, the fragrance vial runs out, and you’ll need to factor in the cost of replacing them. Pura currently offers its own line of fragrances as well as those from its fragrance partners like NEST New York, Apotheke, and Capri BLUE.
