I was given UrbanStems’ a 6-months flower subscription as a thank-you gift from my realtor. My husband and I recently purchased a new home, and our realtor sent us a flower bouquet from UrbanStems. She wanted to give us the gift in person, but with all the social distancing, she thought she’d send me UrbanStems instead.
I have not heard of UrbanStems, to be honest, and apparently, it was my realtor’s first time ordering from UrbanStems as well. According to its founders, UrbanStems is “the online gifting company that makes sending as enjoyable as receiving”. It aims to deliver fresh flowers to a recipient’s doorstep as fresh as possible, even from coast to coast. UrbanStems is based in the DC area and offers same-day delivery in NYC and DC. I live in Los Angeles, so yeah, it’s literally coast-to-coast, Ha.
I was not expecting a flower delivery, so I was pleasantly surprised to receive this pink box at my doorstep. FedEx delivered the package, and the delivery person gently placed the box right in front of my door.
I excitedly unboxed it to find this beautiful assortment of flowers. It comes with a clear glass vase, and the flower stems are packaged securely inside the box using a cable tie.
A Thank-you note was enclosed along with flower food to prolong the life of this beautiful flower bouquet. And it comes with handy care instructions.
I trimmed the stems at a 45-degree angle with my gardening shears and filled the vase with fresh, cold water. Don’t forget to mix in the flower feed – adding flower food does make a huge difference.
It did have a few wilted stems, but the overall condition of the bouquet was very fresh. I thought I’d mention this for a full disclosure and transparent review.
This is such a great service, and I’m thinking about using UrbanStems in the future if I need to send some flowers. It has lifted my mood amidst these crazy times, and the flowers are so lovely.
I’m going to use UrbanStems coming Father’s Day to send some love to my dad and father-in-law.
