Breville The Joule Turbo Sous Vide

In an effort to eat more chicken breast, I invested in a Sous Vide machine from Breville.

There are many Sous Vide machines in the market, but I loved the sleek design, intuitive operation, and the Joule app connectivity (more on that later) of Breville's Sous Vide.

The Joule Turbo Sous Vide is only available in 1 finish - polished stainless steel with a white body. But I had no problem with this color as it actually complements my white marble kitchen.

The components are simple - The Sous Vide machine, a ruler, and an instruction manual.

This ruler comes in handy when you're measuring the thickness of the ingredients because more accurately measured ingredients result in better food results.

This simple stick machine is going to make my tender, soft chicken breast, and many more delicious cuisine.

Plugging the machine automatically turns the machine on, and in order to use it you need the Joule app. You can download the app at the app store and follow its instructions.

The machine requires Wi-Fi connectivity, and you can operate it in the app. This can be both a positive and a negative, depending on how you see it. It enables you to take more precise and digital control of the machine as it allows you to set the timer, choose the desired temperature of the cooked food, or set the thickness of the ingredients; however, it doesn't let you simply turn the machine on or off with a simple touch of a button.

I used my FoodSaver to vacuum-seal my fresh chicken breast.

I put 2 chunks of lightly seasoned chicken breast in one vacuum sealer bag, and the chicken is now ready to cook!

The bottom of the Sous Vide machine is magnetic, so it locks onto the bottom of the pan if you're using a stainless steel pot. It prevents the machine from moving around or being knocked over during cooking.

The Joule app offers you a step-by-step guide for you to familiarize yourself with the machine. It also has so many Sous Vide recipes custom to the machine, so I'm super excited to try them out.

It tells you everything you need from start to finish -

I selected a simple chicken breast recipe and decided to give it a go.

I'm going to make the "Ultimate Chicken Breast", and my desired chicken temperature is set at 149 degrees Fahrenheit.

My 1-inch-thick chicken breast is going to take 45 minutes, according to Joule.

Sadly, all my pots weren't big enough for the Sous Vide.

I ordered a larger pot right away, but for today, I'll need to experiment with the smaller pot.

The water circulates through the Sous Vide machine, and the warmed water continuously comes out through the spout, heating the contents.

After 45 minutes, my chicken breast is ready!

It's so crazy how juicy and soft it turned out. It tastes nothing like the regular grilled chicken breast that's rubbery, chewy and hard.
